Your dream holidays can start here.
A constant sea breeze cools the two spacious guest rooms that are located on the second floor. Most guests never switch on the air-condition.
On the ground floor you can rent a huge living room with spaciouos verandah
and a large, western style kitchen - our "Room A3".
Mihiripenna Beach near Unawatuna
On the beach directly adjoining our garden picturesk rocks and corals have formed a natural pool in the ocean. You can swim here any time, and even small children can safely enjoy the water.
On most days you can also swim in the open sea. Sharks or other dangerous animals don't exist here.
Unawatuna Beach
About 2.5 km from the Rockside Guest House and Cabanas you find Unawatuna
Beach, one of the most beautiful bathing beaches in the world, offering 2
kilometers of sandy beach. Our own diving school is situated there and you
have the choice of many small restaurant and shops.
With a "Tuk-tuk", the local three-wheel taxi for up to 3 adult passengers,
you reach Unawatuna in less than 5 minutes and pay about 80 Euro-Cent for the
ride (per ride, not per person!).
Hospitality
The Rockside Guest House with 4 guest rooms and 3 cabanas provides an individual
and family oriented service to our guest. You'll encounter and enjoy the
original hospitality of the Sri Lankan when the Pussewala family caters for
your needs - always with a smile.
We try our best to make sure that the good old european virtues are kept in
mind as well.
Food
In our small restaurant we'd love to present a tasty variety of exotic Sri
Lankan dishes to you - of course in a somewhat "tamed" version,
if you don't like it as spicy.
For a change you can visit the beach restaurant in the neighbourhood offering
all sort of international food.

Ayurveda
Wellness can be that easy: just relax in our special massage house (with shower and toilet) while getting an aryurvedic massage. It's healthy and feels fantastic!
If you want to relax from swimming or snorceling you can sit on the garden
terrace, look at the ocean, have a cool drink and - well, probably do just
nothing at all.
From here as well as from your room terrace upstairs you can watch the beautiful
sunsets every day.
In our garden you can watch many different colorful birds, and occasionally there'll be a few monkeys playing in the trees.
Excursions
Sri Lanka is full of attractive places one might want to visit.
Let's start with Galle (6 km), the province capital with the famous Fort (UNESCO
World Heritage). Or how about the Yala National Park in the south, where
you can see elefants and spectacular birds (day tour).
Kandy with the Temple of Tooth in the centre of the island and the so called "cultural
triangle" with the ancient cities further north are visited by many of
our guests. Mostly they go on a round trip (2-4 days).
By the way: not only in the hill country around Kandy you find huge tea plantations.
Only 5 km from Mihiripena/Unawatuna you can visit hilly areas with tea plantations
and tea factories (day tour).
Whatever you'd like to see: we'll provide our mini
bus and a driver and organize
accomodation. "No problem" - and for very little money.
